ADS-Pi (cheap Raspberry-Pi ADS-B antenna)

Group: Forum Members Posts: 4, Visits: 18	Wouldn't be really cool to be able to have some sort of integration with ADS-B IN receivers for displaying of traffic. I'm operating in Australia where all IFR traffic has to use ADS-B out on the Extended Squitter of the Mode-S transponders. The boys over at Oz Runways have thought of a neat and cheap 'hack' to be able to input traffic on a iPad. Using a simple DVB antenna, and mini and super cheap Raspberry-Pi computer they've come up with a simple solution. http://adspi.ozrunways.com Let me hear what you think?

In the near future there will be other professional hardware specifically designed to do this, too. We won't be enabling the use of a hack like the one you mentioned, though, sorry.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 4, Visits: 18	Now we're 2017 - happy new year - and SkyDemon does support ADS-B In via GDL90, which supposedly can be supplied by a Raspberry Pi using Stratux. We've come full circle! SkyDemon is still the best VFR Aviation app out there. Keep up the best work!

p Group: Forum Members Posts: 14, Visits: 4	‌I agree SkyDemon can use a Stratux running RPi with GDL90 or NetworkFLARM. I prefer FLARM if using more than 1 device in the air. GDL isn't stable yet. With FLARM i can see all traffic with a distance ring ‌

p Group: Forum Members Posts: 14, Visits: 4	Hi ‌installed the restore image from http://adspi.ozrunways.com. The image is installed but the wireless ap did not came up. Investigating into the image results that wireless ap is not configured correctly. To much to do to get it working. Tried both images RPi2/3 of course on an RPi2/3. Same result. Same problem, even you can't change the ip address which is necessary to get GDL and FLARM working for SD. Both systems are based on Stratux. At this time you only can make changes in stratux - for example changing ip address and compiling FLARM...
